Two BU campuses are to hold the Row Britannia Challenge, to promote better mental health across the university…

Bournemouth University has announced plans to hold the Row Britannia Challenge. That’s a five-day challenge to row 2,020 miles, in support of University Mental Health Day. The event will also raise funds for Sport Relief, starting Monday 2nd March.

The Talbot and Lansdowne campuses of BU will be hosting the challenge. Due to physical activity’s links to better mental and physical well-being, the university encourages student and staff participation.

University Mental Health Day (UMHD) was set up to make mental health a priority across all universities in the country. This year, UMHD takes place on Thursday 5th March.

Meanwhile, the Row Britannia Challenge is not exclusive to Bournemouth. It was organised by the British Inspiration Trust to form a national event, bringing together educational and sporting bodies and communities. All in the spirit of raising awareness and funds to support mental health.

So, if you’re a student or staff member at BU, you’re welcome to take part in this year’s challenge. You can even do so in teams! Remember, it’s in support of great causes, including Sport Relief.

Visit the SportBU website to find out more about applying. Meanwhile, read up more local goings-on via our Events section. And don’t forget to follow HQB Media on all our social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
